Judy Yi

Partner

Judy Yi is a partner in Paduano & Weintraub’s Employment Practice.

Drawing on extensive experience representing management in agency investigations, administrative proceedings, and litigation in both state and federal courts, Judy advises employers on the full spectrum of labor and employment matters, with a focus on proactively managing workplace risk and ensuring compliance with complex federal and multi-state employment laws.  Judy partners closely with business leaders, human resources professionals, and in-house legal teams to develop practical, business-oriented solutions to workforce challenges. Her practice includes day-to-day counseling on a wide range of employment issues, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, disability accommodations, leave administration, wage and hour compliance, employee classification, I-9 and immigration compliance, restrictive covenants, whistleblower matters, employment agreements, personnel policies, management training, protection of confidential and trade secret information, and workplace investigations.

She regularly conducts comprehensive employment and human resources audits, evaluating workplace practices, policies, and documentation to identify legal risks and strengthen compliance frameworks.

Judy also serves as a trusted advisor in complex corporate transactions, managing labor and employment due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, financings, restructurings, and other strategic transactions. She has substantial experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating executive employment agreements and other compensation and retention arrangements, including restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, bonus arrangements, consulting agreements, employee leasing agreements and other complex employment-related contracts. She regularly advises companies and executives on the strategic, operational, and legal considerations associated with these arrangements in both ongoing employment matters and corporate transactions.

In addition, Judy’s prior in-house experience provides her with a unique perspective that enhances her ability to deliver practical and strategic advice aligned with broader business objectives. She understands not only the legal and operational considerations companies face, but also the executive-level decision-making and implementation steps necessary to achieve organizational goals effectively and efficiently.

Prior to joining Paduano and Weintraub, Judy was a partner at an AmLaw 100 law firm in its Labor and Employment Department for more than 20 years.  She has also led an in-house Legal Department for an advertising agency.
