Guilherme Duraes focuses on complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. Guilherme represents companies and individuals in disputes related to securities claims, financial products, mergers and acquisitions, and other complex business matters. He has also represented clients in government and internal investigations arising under the securities laws and FCPA. His clients include financial institutions as well as retail, entertainment, and transportation companies.

Guilherme’s pro bono practice focuses on impact litigation and international human rights. Among other matters, he has obtained asylum for a survivor of the civil war in Sierra Leone, assisted an inmate with intellectual disabilities on death row in Tanzania, and litigated against a government agency for its illegal use of sealed arrest records.
